FAQs and General Advice - Tiling

Tiling

Q.  What are the advantages of tiled floors?

A.  They are practical and attractive, particularly in our typical wet British

weather and with young children and pets coming in and out of the house.

Q.  What tiles should I look for in my shower room?

A.  Check with your tile supplier that the tile is, first of all, suitable for your

shower room/bathroom.  It is essential to tile onto an already water-

resistent background.  Sand/cement render, dense concrete or water-

resistent tilebacker boards are ideal.  Plaster, plasterboard, timber and timber-

based products (e.g. MDF or plywood) are absorbent and should not be used in wet areas.
