FAQs and General Advice - Plumbing & Electrics
Plumbing
Q. Are you Gas Safety Registered?
A. All gas engineers have to be registered on the Gas Safety List to perform
gas work on boilers, hobs, ovens, fires and other gas appliances. Therefore,
anyone working on our behalf will be registered.
Q. How often should I service my boiler?
A. Ideally once a year.
Q. What should I do if a water pipe bursts?
A. Turn off the water supply and turn on all taps to drain your system
quickly. Isolate the power supply to immersion heaters, showers and heating
systems to ensure there is no further damage to the system. Call us to arrange
for the pipe to be repaired.
Q. How can I stop leaking pipes?
A. Check your pipes now and then for any possible damage. If there is rust or lime depositing on them, this could be early indication of a leak. If you notice anything odd, call us to take a look. It may be a simple inexpensive job that, if left, could be costly in the future.

Q. How can I prolong the life of my plumbing fixtures?
A. Install a water softener. These are designed to stop scale build-up and protect pipes, making your water appliances more efficient and longer lasting.

Electrics
Q. Are your electricians registered?
A. Yes.

Q. Do I need to have my electrics tested?
A. Household electrical installations should undergo a test every 10 years as a minimum. It's not the law, however, but certainly recommended. Everyone knows how quickly a fire can take hold due to electrical faults.
